Assessments = tools.
They serve several functions:
*see where you are before starting a program to establish realistic goals
*see changes not shown on the scale or mirror
*establish a change in training to achieve a new goal
This week’s blog is from client Ursula Wefers, who shares her assessment experience with you to clarify some good stuff.
There is a lot to be said about assessments. If I want to measure results I need to have a benchmark, and that was my mindset when I scheduled the first one.
My first assessment was to learn exactly where I was. The experience was extraordinary: Trish covered every base with me, and together we designed my plan.
I walked out of there thinking the 136 pounds that were tormenting
me were going bye-bye.
Two months later, I got my second assessment; the changes in my body fat, mass, and all those measurements I wasn't considering before were fantastic!
The scale? Freaking scale! Only 0.6 ounces down!
That was when I learned that the scale and I are not friends, and we will never be! However, I was feeling awesome because two months after starting training I was wearing clothes that before would not fit me! What do you think of this, lovely scale?

I have to admit that I have also made some changes to my diet. Lisa Yarah from CNY Dieticians helped me realize that I was not eating enough protein, which in turn was making my body crave carbs! Fixing this was easy, and the weight drop started to happen. As of today, I have lost a little over 10 pounds, and the improvement of my body composition numbers continue to amaze me.
