You registered for a class. WHOO hoo!
Possibly you’re intimidated or terrified. Maybe you doubt that it's as good as your friends say, & you're cautious. We get that - it sounds like a cult, right?
So, what IS a class really like? What can you expect?
Class is different every day. Our trainers never design the same class twice, so your body never gets used to the workouts. Before class, the trainer explains the circuit. It's a pain, but we feel it’s important to take this time - about 5-7 minutes – to get everyone on the same page for safety!
You will then promptly forget everything the trainer told you. :)
That's ok! Everyone does! That’s why we write everything on whiteboards and the floor.
The warm up is basic and easy to follow. While you warm up, the trainer will talk to you, asking you to check in with yourself and pay attention to form.
You’ll see bodies of all ages, fitness levels, with both genders represented. This is not aerobics, Zumba, or CrossFit class. It’s the closest thing to personal training you can find in a group setting!
Often we start with a resistance set on the main floor: get weights & a mat, and focus on form.
Then, we usually move into the circuit: "stations" where you'll be working with others in a team. We pride ourselves on our friendly clientele, who'll introduce themselves. Follow them. They know what they’re doing and will help you – they don’t CARE if you don't know what you’re doing. They really aren’t judging you – they know you’ll “get it” the 2nd time through!
You may find you need to tweak your workout – change up some exercises because you’re in pain or you have an injury to work around. Totally fine!Look around the room – you’ll see most clients making the workout their own. Make decisions that are best for your body – and you’ll learn quickly how to challenge yourself to NOT take the easy way out!
The trainer will take you through 60 full minutes – we wring the most out of an hour! We start the timer when the circuit explanation ends and if we’re done a few minutes early, we find a few other things to do to kill off the remaining minutes! There is a cool down/stretch at the end. Plan to be here a total of about 70 minutes. Need to scoot out early? We get that – go ahead and do what you need to!
Yes, you will sweat. You will be tired. You will want to stop. You will be confused. All normal things at a gym where you’re new! No one is judging you. No one is laughing at you. They just want to get through their workout, too! Remember that no matter how long someone’s been at Method 360, it’s hard for them, too.
Method 360 is fitness for EVERY BODY.
