I needed a change that would only happen if I were proactive. Being stuck with the same weight for over two years needed to end.
My son is a train lover, and bringing him to the train tracks on Bridge Street was our routine. After countless hours looking at trains come and go I learned every sign, restaurant, bank, and store name around the area. I wondered what Method 360 was and decided to Google it. AHA! I found a gem!
My trial was an afternoon Kristen class, and oh man! Surprise caught me! She welcomed me by name (I was trying to be low-key!) and the hour class went by very fast! The result: I loved it and signed up right away.
For the first three months, 5:30am become my norm! For a person who loves to sleep, this was an enormous sacrifice, but when you want something so bad, there is no limit to what one can do!
What has Method taught me this past year? Or as I like calling it, what has been the Learning Curve:
I'm happy to confirm that I’ve landed at a place where the owners remain true to their vision and mission! Method doesn't train bodies; Method trains your mind, and there's no one-size-training-fits-all.
I appreciate the mix of flavors that I get every day and every week.
Here is a little brief of my journey:
Then came the Ring of Fire! Sorry! I mean Wendy! Her classes are "heart" challenging, but I love it every time! Got to love the cheers of your peers! The best memory I have of Wendy's classes is from the first time she said, “Tuck your belly button to your spine”. I was puzzled! My thoughtful answer: How the hell do I do that? As I understood the concept, I learned what she meant. Now, each time I get into plank position, the idea comes back to my head and strive to do it the best I can.
Yes! Method trains minds to do things!
I learned how to turn on my core and glutes, zipping my core to my back, and all those phrases that are puzzling to the ear, but so necessary to understand and practice to maintain a healthy body. I'm currently working hard on getting my shoulders back and down. Thanks to Kristen, I'm focusing on my posture and learning to breathe with my core. Still so much to learn!
Lately, Aaron has gotten into the mix. Oh boy! Just when I thought that no one else could make me discover a new muscle...I was so damn wrong! I took his first MMA class, and it was fun and challenging! Twenty-four hours later, my butt was still engaged, and my core is still thanking him!
One of my favorite workouts is Trish's old school class, or the famous FU Workout! As Trish describes it, it’s nothing that one can’t do alone, but let's be honest, who is going to do that to oneself? That class was insanely hard and so good at the same time! I have recorded that day as the day "I left myself on the floor." My heart monitor congratulated me at the end of the class for being the day that I broke a record burning calories!
It is the place where for a full hour I'm focusing on myself. Sound selfish?
Not really! This hour for myself fuels me to be a better mom, a better wife,
and a better person overall.
Method 360 has taught me to train my mind! To get to places I didn't know I could get. After a year, am I where I wanted to be? Yes! - Do I want to keep improving? Of course! Why not? The possibilities are endless! It's all about my mindset, and all I see are opportunities ahead!
Keeping a healthy mind and a healthy body means that I'm getting equipped for life! It means that I’m continuously improving as a human being and that every day I wake up to live a happy family life!
MY Family! It's not strange to see my whole family walking together into the building to get the best of Method; the kids go play in the babysitter room,
and Jim and I go to play on the workout floor!
Method has become the place where we all feel comfortable.
