Here is Tracy’s story:
My friend Jen Picciano referred me a year and a half ago. At the time Trish trained out of CNY Gymnastics, then her small studio. I didn’t realize how integral [the workouts] were to me until Method 360 took a hiatus as Jen, Leslie, and Trish worked on the current space. I would describe Method 360 as circuit-style interval training that is adaptable to anyone’s level of fitness. It has a reputation of being hard-core or intense, but ultimately the trainers do an amazing job reminding you that you are in control and to take what you need. I’ve learned that I need a high level of accountability. To be honest I don’t enjoy working out. I waited far too long to start a fitness regime because I kept hearing of how much other people “can’t live without x,y or z fitness program”. Honestly I thought, “That will never be me.” Method 360 gives me the structure I need with a level of adaptability that makes in manageable.
As Trish often says, it is typically the only hour that I spend on just myself & is something that has truly inspired me in other areas of my life. I have found a wonderful community that I feel a part of, doing something that is challenging and ultimately very fulfilling. I learned not to take failure too seriously, both within my fitness routine and everything else. It’s been a pleasure to watch Method grow into what it is now. Trish has always been gifted at what she does, and her perseverance in tweaking Method until she got it spot on is inspiring. My main accomplishment is that I have learned to appreciate the role that fitness plays in my life. I still make excuses when my alarm goes off at 4:50am, and sometimes those excuses are enough to make me roll over and hit the snooze, but mostly they aren’t, and I feel great the other 23 hours of the day because of that one hour of hard work.
We asked Tracy a few questions about Method 360:
How would you describe yourself before and after reaching your goal?
I prided myself on living a healthy lifestyle, while ignoring the elephant in the room that while I may have been eating healthy, I didn’t exercise at all because I didn’t want to. Now I take a more holistic approach to my health and realize that both diet and exercise need to play a role without allowing myself to become obsessed. I think in some ways I am more goal-oriented and in other ways I have relaxed into the fact that I want this to be a way of life not just something I do for a little blip in time.
What would you tell someone who is on the fence about trying M360?
Try it. It’s hard & will continue to be hard, but it’s an investment in yourself. As mothers, wives, employees, daughters and friends we often give from a tilted cup, and Method offers me an opportunity to fill up my cup a little.
What is your favorite Method-ism?
“You aren’t trying to win the gold medal in fitness; you are trying to be better at everything else you do”
Tracy then finally talked her husband Jeff into trying Method 360:
My wife Tracy has been part of Method 360 since the early days of the Shoppingtown and Fayetteville locations. Seeing firsthand the progress she made and hearing about this community she was a part of definitely motivated me to check it out myself. My description of Method 360 is circuit-based training, with a balanced approach to physical conditioning, in a friendly environment, that will consistently challenge you at every level. The desire to do a little bit better each time, be it to surpass the number of repetitions that I can do of a particular TRX exercise or to be able to use slightly heavier weights over time. I’m also encouraged by the results I feel and see after 4 months of going to Method 360. I find that going to Method 360 classes provides a tremendous outlet to redirect the stresses that come from life and work in general. It’s a great way to funnel all that mental challenges into something productive.
The biological/physiological descriptions of what we do in class and the way the trainers explain it has been tremendously interesting to me. I’ve never had anyone clearly communicate why a particular exercise or series of movement can help improve conditioning, so having the science of 360 explained has been insightful for me. I started Method 360 with a general goal of getting in shape. In the 4 months since I started I can actually see and feel muscles developing! That in itself has been a big achievement for someone who has not done anything athletic in 15 years. For now my only goal is to continue to get fit and push myself a little harder each time and maybe get to a point where I could actually pull off one of those Under-Armor Batman shirts. Admittedly that may take some time.
We asked Jeff some questions about his experience at Method 360:
How would you describe yourself before and after reaching your goal?
Before joining Method 360 I led a sedentary lifestyle. These days I feel great, more energetic and much more physically fit.
What would you tell someone who is on the fence about trying M360?
Go get your butt kicked at Method 360; it’s a good time!
What is your favorite Method-ism?
Being an avid comic book collector since as early as I can remember, I enjoy any time Trish brings up Batman or Superhero related references.
Thank you Tracy and Jeff for being our Success Stories for August. We love seeing couples come to Method 360 to get their workouts in, and we LOVE when they get to workout together! In appreciation we would like to give you each a 5 class pass to use any way you would like. We look forward to seeing you both work towards your fitness goals and continue to live a healthy well balanced lifestyle!
