Paddle Boarding FAQ
Admission to Green Lakes is NOT included; park in the West Lot & meet at the boathouse.
Complimentary 1st class cannot be applied toward SUP.
No returns or refunds. Due to high demand and limited space, a 12-hour cancellation is required.
No shows & late cancels lose the class.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for fitness or yoga (yoga pants & tank top). You can wear a bathing suit, and rash guards are helpful if it's a chilly morning, a bit rainy, or during the peak sun hours. A hat is also a good idea, as well as sunglasses, but keep in mind, sunglasses sink!
All participants are also required to wear belt-style PFDs (personal flotation device), which we provide.
What should I bring?
Bring your water bottle, sunscreen, & a sense of humor. A towel and/or change of clothes come in handy!
Will I get wet?
We're on water...anything is possible! It's easy to avoid falling in, if that's your goal. You'll learn techniques to stay balanced and dry, though having fun and trying new things is more our style.
Athletic SUP 360 will be a bit splashier than other classes (you'll thank us for that)!
What if it's rainy?
There is something incredible about paddling in a drizzle, but if there's thunder or lightning, class will be cancelled. Please make sure your cell phone number is updated in your profile on MindBody.
Are the instructors certified?
All SUP instructors have completed American Canoe Association (or comparable) training. They have first aid & CPR certifications and are trained in water rescue. All instructors are insured.
How old do you need to be to participate?
Ages 16 and up are able to participate in all SUP classes, and minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian on the water.
I've never been paddle boarding or practiced yoga. Is this for me?
Yes!! All classes begin with a lesson on paddling and you'll be coached through all poses and activities. Our teachers will ease you into this new experience and teach you all that you need to know.
Where are classes held?
All classes leave from the boathouse at Green Lakes. Park in the West Lot and meet at the boathouse (across from the bathhouse). It is essential that all clients arrive on time, as we paddle as a group.
Will I be charged for entering the state park?
Yes. The park charges $8/car after 8am or you can purchase a season pass for $65.
Can I bring my own board?
Unfortunately, Green Lakes will not allow for outside boards on their lake due to the concern of introducing invasive species.
